Air Fryer Chicken Wings
Prep time: 5 mins. Cook time: 20 mins. Serves: 2-4.
Recipe: Air Fryer Chicken Wings
Ingredients
- 1kg chicken wings (split into flats and drumettes)
- 15ml vegetable oil
- 5g sea salt
- 3g garlic powder
- 2g onion powder
- 1g smoked paprika
- 1g baking powder (optional, for extra crunch)
Instructions
Dry the wings: Use paper towels to pat the chicken wings until they are completely dry. This step is critical for achieving a crispy skin.
Season: In a large bowl, toss the wings with the oil until coated. Combine the salt, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, and baking powder. Sprinkle the seasoning over the wings and toss again to ensure even coverage.
Preheat: Preheat the air fryer to 200°C.
Arrange: Place the wings in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Do not crowd them; if they are overlapping, they will steam rather than crisp. Cook in batches if necessary.
Cook: Air fry for 10 minutes.
Flip: Open the basket and flip the wings or shake the basket thoroughly.
Finish: Cook for another 8-10 minutes, or until the skin is golden brown and crispy.
Serve: Remove from the air fryer and let stand for 1-2 minutes before serving plain or tossing in your preferred sauce.
